Monday Report

The Monday Report is the Michigan Health & Hospital Association’s flagship weekly publication, delivering healthcare news, policy updates, educational opportunities and member resources to more than 4,300 subscribers across Michigan’s healthcare community.

As editor of the publication, I lead the end-to-end editorial process from content planning through publication. This includes working with subject matter experts across the organization to identify story opportunities, request and develop content, write and edit articles, ensure AP and organizational style standards are met, and publish content across email and web platforms.

In addition to editorial oversight, I manage subscriber maintenance and audience engagement efforts, helping ensure the publication reaches the right audiences with timely and relevant information. Since joining the MHA communications team, the Monday Report audience has grown by more than 1,000 subscribers while maintaining an average open rate above 24%.

Through this work, I have developed expertise in editorial leadership, audience engagement, content strategy, digital publishing and cross-functional collaboration. The role requires balancing organizational priorities, audience needs and publication deadlines while ensuring complex healthcare information remains accessible, accurate and actionable.

Newsroom Content Categorization & Visual Identity System

When reviewing MHA’s newsroom and member communications, I identified an opportunity to create greater consistency and recognition across recurring content categories. Working closely with our design team, I helped develop a visual header system for frequently published topics, including advocacy, policy, events, webinars, news, rural health and member resources.
